Tickets - Conditions of Sale
In buying ticket(s) from the Great Western Society (Didcot Railway Centre) (“we” “us” “our”) you understand and agree that:
- Your ticket(s) is/are valid only for the number of person(s) and the date stated on its/their face(s).
- During your visit you must retain your ticket(s) safely for production on demand by our representative(s).
- Your ticket(s) cannot be refunded or exchanged.
Your visit to Didcot Railway Centre is at all times subject to any notice to visitors we post on our premises and the direction, supervision and guidance of our staff.
We reserve the right at our discretion to alter our advertised arrangements for open days and events, cancel any open day or event and/or close without notice; AND in any such event (a) we shall not be liable to you for any loss of business, revenue, profits, anticipated savings or goodwill (whether direct or indirect) or for any indirect, special or consequential loss of any kind and in each case howsoever arising, even if you have advised us of the possibility of same; and (b) our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you paid for your ticket(s).
If your ticket(s) is/are re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other us or one of our authorised sub-agents then your ticket(s) will be void.
We have the right, without liability to you, to refuse to allow you to enter the exhibition and/or escort you from our premises if you, in our judgement, breach any of these conditions.
This agreement is subject to the laws of England and Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Etickets
Buying etickets
When buying etickets for Didcot Railway Centre you are entering into an agreement with the Great Western Society Limited on e-specific terms that incorporate the common terms of use of this website applicable to all transactions.
Classes of eticket holders
The following definitions will apply to eticket sales:
- Child under 16: a person aged from 0 years old to 15 years old (inclusive)
- Adult: a person aged from 16 to 64 years old (inclusive)
- Adult senior: a person aged 65 years or more.
- Carer: a person accompanying a disabled person.
- Disabled person: a person is disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if they have a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on their ability to do normal daily activities.
Receiving your eticket
Once your online booking has been confirmed an order confirmation will be sent to the email address you specified.
It is your responsibility to check prior to purchase that the information you have supplied to us with regards to your eticket requirements is accurate. We are only responsible for issuing etickets in accordance with the information you provide.
Using your eticket
Once purchased neither the date nor event for which an eticket has been purchased may be changed. Payments for etickets are non-refundable. Etickets are valid only for the date stated upon them.
On arrival at the event, the following will be required in order to validate an eticket purchased through the Didcot Railway Centre website:
- A legible printout of your eticket or a smartphone with the confirmation including barcode.
- The credit or debit card used to purchase the eticket through this website. The Great Western Society reserves the right to charge normal event entry prices to any person not able to validate their eticket in the above manner.
- Appropriate proof of entitlement to any discounted ticket rate claimed (such as Members' rates or carers' tickets) for each person to be admitted with the ticket.
- Any additional persons wishing to enter with an eticket holder will be required to pay the normal entry rates.
Resale
No eticket may be resold without the prior written consent of the Great Western Society. If any person attempts to enter an event with an eticket that has been resold without the Great Western Society’s written consent, Didcot Railway Centre may refuse entry and no compensation is payable to that person.
Access to Didcot Railway Centre
Access is subject to standard visitor regulations.
Cancellation
Should cancellation of the event, or any day of the event, be necessary, Didcot Railway Centre will attempt to contact all customers who have booked tickets in advance to arrange exchange or refund of tickets. This contact will be in the form of email, so customers are advised to check their email inbox before visiting to avoid an unnecessary journey should an event be cancelled. If an alternative visit date cannot be arranged, the Great Western Society will issue a voucher valid for the same or similar Open Day or Event or if a similar event is unlikely to be stgaed refund the full ticket price paid, excluding any booking fees, facility fees payment processing fees, or similar charges.
Accessibility
Didcot Railway Centre warmly welcomes all visitors with physical, sensory and learning disabilities and our staff will do all they can to ensure that your visit is both comfortable and enjoyable. Visitors should however be aware of an unavoidable flight of 18 steps on the only access route to the centre.
